  • July 29: Bridging the Gap, the 100th Anniversary of the Outlaw Bridge, Johnson Heritage Post
  • August 4 & 5: Bally Demos Days at Bally Blacksmith Shop
  • August 4: Old Timer's Gathering - 10 am at the Senior Center

History Week Demos 
 August 25th through the September 4th


History Week will include history talks, demonstrations and festive gatherings at historical locations throughout the county.

Cook County Historical Society Events During History Week Include:
  • ​Fishcake Dinner (History Week Kick-Off!)- Friday, August 25th at 5:30 pm / Cost: $15.00 at the door (Meet at St. John's Catholic Church basement in Grand Marais)​
  • Lefse Making Demos (A modern twist on a historic recipe) Friday, September 1st at 1:00 pm (Meet at the Museum)​​
  • Extra Harbor History Tours- Saturday, August 26th / Wednesday, August 30th / September 2nd  (All tours begin at 1:00 pm-meet at the Museum)​
  • Scavenger Hunt- Saturday, September 2nd at 10:00 am (Meet at the Museum) 1st Place Cash Prize Stop into the Museum to learn more or gotovisitcookcounty.com for a full list of events with details.
