"SUPERIOR: A 50-Year Photographic Journey" with Craig Blacklock

  • Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery 115 West Wisconsin Street Grand Marais, MN, 55604 United States (map)

The Cook County Historical Society is pleased to host wilderness photographer Craig Blacklock as part of its 2026 Speaker Series. Blacklock has devoted much of his career to photographing Lake Superior. SUPERIOR: A 50-Year Photographic Journey brings together the finest images from his earlier books along with new work from recent years, creating a stunning, definitive collection that captures the lake’s remarkable diversity and beauty.

Join us for a one-hour program as Craig shares stories and photographs from decades of exploration, including kayak journeys to remote locations such as the Slate Islands and Michipicoten Island, as well as iconic North Shore landmarks like Palisade Head and Artists Point.

SUPERIOR is Craig’s 20th book, several of which have won international awards.
