The Cook County Historical Society operates the Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery in Grand Marais, Minnesota. This non-profit Art Gallery features local, regional, and national artists in revolving exhibits, as well as a permanent collection of original art by Anna C. Johnson, an early 1900s artist.

Wednesday – Saturday: 10 AM-4 PM

Sunday: 1-4 pm

Closed tuesdays

JHP will be open on the following days in 2025:

  • Sept 26th-28th, and 30th, October 5th (Open 10 AM-5 Pm) for Art Along the Lake Studio Tours

  • Friday, November 28 – Oh Ole Night Parade (Open 10 AM-5 PM)

JHP will be closed on the following holidays:

  • New Year’s Day

  • MLK Jr. Day

  • Presidents Day

  • indigenous peoples day

  • Veterans Day

  • Thanksgiving Day
