ARCHIVAL STORAGE FACILITY FUNDRAISER
After two major floods in our Museum’s storage area, the Cook County Historical Society Board of Directors has decided to build a new storage facility offsite – away from Lake Superior. We’ve purchased a lot in the Cedar Grove Business Park. Currently, we are working on plans for a simple structure with proper environmental controls and enough space house all of our collections – totaling over 28,000 individual items!
This collection, like our county, is one of a kind! The cultural legacy held in these objects, documents, photographs, artworks, and books cannot be over-emphasized. Our organization’s mission to collect, preserve and share Cook County’s history requires care and conservation of these important artifacts that represent our hardy people and this beautiful place.
HELP US as we work to keep Cook County’s history for future generations!
