2024 Annual Christmas Ornament Contest and Fundraiser
2024 Winner Announcement
Ahem ahem…
It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for – time to announce the winners of our annual Ornament Contest and Fundraiser! Participants were judged based on festivity, creativity, and craftsmanship.
Thank you so much to everyone who participated. It has brought me so much joy seeing our beautiful tree sparkle, and I know all these ornaments will be finding good homes and spreading joy for years to come. It was a truly hard decision narrowing down all the amazing choices and everyone did an incredible job. We hope everyone had a blast making their ornaments and will plan on participating next year as well!
Now without further ado, I would like to congratulate:
1st Place Winner: Dee Closson with Candy Cane Moose
With festive embellishments, well-crafted attention to detail, and the sweetest little jingle bells that sound just like Santa’s Sleigh approaching, this ornament just bursts with Christmas joy!
2nd Place Winner: Sallee Dawson with Nordic Skiers
Every time you look at this ornament you find some other cute detail to enjoy! Thoughtful and humorous, it makes us want to get outside and play.
3rd Place Winner: Donna Johnson with Snowman on Buffalo
Charming and cozy, the pine boughs and cones make you feel like you stumbled upon this friendly snowman in the middle of the woods. It perfectly captures the feeling of a snowy holiday.
Youth Winner: Nora Andrus with Yarn Snowman
This adorable snowman showed an impressive amount of craftsmanship, with the cutest smile to boot! This one will actually be coming home with me to hang on my tree…
Additionally, we were so impressed with all our youth submissions that we would like to offer each participating youth their choice of 3 Nan Onkka stickers as well.
These ornaments and many more are available now to purchase at JHP Art Gallery! Stop in and take home your favorite today – all proceeds go toward supporting Historic Cook County programing in 2025.
Happy Holidays!
